Tales of the strange but true. I've been known as Sharkey since 1960, thanks to a twisted junior high mind and a good friend. I own 19 "collectable" sharks, have t-shirts from 2 businesses named "Sharkey's" (a bar in Binghampton, NY and a marina in Illinois). There is a pizza place in Port Colborne, Ontario of the same name, but alas they have no shirts. Also have 3 other shark shirts. One son has 2 real sharks in an aquarium, but one dog is enough wildlife for me to care for right now.

New shark factoid (4/16/98):

The largest fish in the world is the Whale Shark (remember whales are mammals). They are 40 feet long and weigh 13 tons. Divers can hitch rides on their backs since they are extremely docile and eat plankton.

Old shark factoid: Sharks can detect one drop of fish extract per million drops of water. That's like being able to zero in on one red pixel in about 4 solid white computer screens.

Lest you think this site belongs to a total goofball, I also have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts (ok it was called Speech and Drama in the dark ages) from Taylor University , and a Masters in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan .

All right, already! Let me go BACK!
