January 8, 2001- Rechargeable batteries will be easier to recycle thanks to the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation. Visit their site to find locations which accept Ni-Cad batteries. RBRC
Nov 16, 2000- If you live within 100 miles of New York City you can recycle computers through Per Scholas. Units which can be repaired will be donated to schools and other needy organizations. End-of-life units will be shredded, the materials separated, and recycled.
Nov 15, 2000- IBM will now accept outdated computers to recycle from any manufacturer .
Sept 6, 2000- Armstrong Ceiling Tile will accept old ceiling tiles of any manufacturer for recycling. Building owners need to (1) contact Armstrong to make sure that their tiles are recyclable, (2) stack the tiles on pallets and wrap them, (3) contact Armstrong for free pick-up.
