This is where I talk about reading.

My reading style is a bit odd. Mostly I buy bags of used books and then read my way through them. But here are some reviews of books in some of my favorite categories. They are in no particular order. I get more responses from this section of my web site than any other, so I am expanding it and will try to add more than just my favorites. I will rate the books on some subjective personal scale which others may find at least interesting, if not quite enlightening.

Disclaimer up front: I read 50-60 books a year, and consider maybe 10 of them really great. I had previously been listing just the best, so for now you'll see almost all 4 and 5 star books until I get a lot more added. Lots of the books I read are out of print. Let me know if a review helps or interests you! jhy@t-one.net

The emblem means that I recently added this review to the site, not that the book is new.

The graphic means that this book is one of the "Best of the Best." It may be a book that changed my life, or my thinking, or just one that has stuck with me as an outstanding example of a good read.
