Spring rains create little intermittant streams on every hillside. The litter is still last year's brown leaves, but deep green hemlock overhangs and punctuates every gorge.

How badly have you longed for a classic Ford truck? A morning of steady rain with no leafy canopy for protection made us mighty glad to find this one. My environmental concerns were of lower priority than a semi-dry rest stop that day. Marie & Chips certainly seem appreciative!

This blue morning in Hoxie Gorge State Forest will be one of my long-cherished memories of New York hikes.
