After high school I attended Ferris State College, graduating with a bachelors degree in Trade Technical Education. Well, it didn't take me long to figure out I did not want to teach, so after a few years of one kind of work & another, I ended up purchasing our family owned water well drilling business and operating it for the better part of 20 years. In looking back, I always comment about the last day I spent working with my father before leaving for college. All I could think of all day long was "Thank goodness, this is the last day I will ever have to spend behind a well rig". As I said, I ended up standing behind that same well machine for almost 20 years.

But as they say, all things come to an end, and when the opportunity arose to sell the drilling business in 1993, I jumped at it. In 1997, I started an Internet service provider business in Scottville, and was fortunate enough to be able to sell that business in the summer of 2005. I am now retired and spend as much of my time as I can in Hawaii.
