I received a brochure from the "Richard Petty Driving Experience". I knew then I had to do it. Who can pass up a chance to go fast and not worry about getting a ticket?! *lol* So, on October 27, 1997 I did just that! I decided to try the "rookie experience". The opportunity to drive a race car for 8 laps around the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It was a 3 hour course. They provided the driving suit & helmet. I had a hard time finding a Car due to my height (for those of you who don't know, I'm only 5ft tall)...hehehe. They gave us instruction, then we took turns following a pace car around the track. The top speed was 140 mph. I was clocked at 133mph as my top speed. Talk about a rush! If you were to ask if I'd do it again...You bet! It was quite a thrill going that fast around the banks of the speedway. Below are some pictures of my adventure....enjoy!!
