Wild Game's Double Bonanza is the newest book and the last in a trilogy of fish and game cookbooks from the late John O. Cartier, and it is destined for greatness just like his other titles.
His first two cookbooks--Best Fish Ever and Best Venison Ever--are part of this exciting trilogy. With the addition of the new Wild Game's Double Bonanza, fish and game cooks have three excellent tools with which to prepare excellent meals. It's estimated that 40 million people in the United States fish and hunt, and Cartier's book tells them not only how to catch and cook freshwater game fish but offers some excellent fishing tips as well. Game is covered in great detail as well, and hunters can learn techniques that will allow them to bag a deer or a brace of duck, geese or other game. Cartier was the retired fulltime staff editor of Outdoor Life magazine for many years, and five of his hardcover hunting books were published by Outdoor Life Book Club. Two were on hunting waterfowl, two on deer hunting, and one on trophy hunting. This new title truly is a double bonanza. It offers succinct how-to-information that is often overlooked by many sportsmen, and the recipes are easy to prepare and delicious to eat. This 192-page book is filled from cover to cover with delightful recipes and fishing and hunting tricks that will put fish or game on the sportsman's table.
His earlier cookbooks rated very high marks from proffesional chefs, deer-camp cooks and others who delight in the taste of fresh-caught fish or game cooked properly. What makes this new book so special is it provides some easy-to-prepare recipes that make a sportsman's mouth drool in anticipation. His tactics and techniques are time-tested and vintage Cartier methods of catching fish and shooting game, and turning this wild bounty into tasty meals.
