On top of Netscape's browser you will find the text menu bar with commands such as file, edit, go, view, etc. Just below the text menu you will find the graphical buttons for common browser features.
Netscape has many items on the bottom of the window. Starting on the left at the bottom you will find the secure/unsecure padlock icon, the online icon, the current page download status, and the quick link icons to Navigator, E-Mail, Newsgroups, Address Book and Netscape Composer. Following is a description of the menu buttons and their purpose.
Bookmarks After finding a web site you like Netscape lets you add a bookmark for the site. Just click on bookmarks and select add bookmark. Netscape will save the bookmark for you. After you've saved the bookmark you can revisit the site by clicking on bookmarks and then clicking on the saved site. Preferences You may customize Netscape by clicking on Edit and then Preferences from the drop down menu.
Netscape will open a new window. Click through the category options to change your preferences.
There are many preferences to change in Netscape. Check them out, but be careful when you get into mail and newsgroups as changing some of these settings will cause your e-mail program to be configured improperly causing your mail to not be delivered.
