Network Settings

Instructions: The following screens are duplicates of the ones that should
appear in your system. Yours may vary slightly.

  1. From your desktop (the page you first see when starting Windows) DOUBLE CLICK on the My Computer icon to open it. The screen to the left should appear.

  2. Double Click on Control Panel.

You should now see a screen similar to the one on the left.

  1. Double Click on the Network Icon.

  1. In the large white text box near the top of this screen you will see several items listed.

  2. Scroll down the list until you find the one that says TCP/IP -> Dial Up Adapter.

  3. Click one time on The TCP/IP -> Adapter to hi-lite it.

  4. Click on properties

  5. If you are using Windows 98 you will get a message stating 'You have asked to change TCP/IP properties........

    Just click on OK

  6. If you are using Windows 95 you will not see the above message.

You should now see a screen similar to the one on the left.

  1. There are 7 tabs at the top of this screen

  2. Make sure you are on the IP Address Tab

  3. Verify that the circle in front of OBTAIN AN IP ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY has a dot in it. If not click in the circle to put a dot there.

  4. Click on the Wins Configuration tab.

You should now see a screen similar to the one on the left.

  1. Verify that your settings match the ones on the example to the left. There MUST be a dot in the circle next to Disable Wins Resolution.

  2. Click on the Gateway tab.

You should now see a screen similar to the one on the left.

  1. Everything on this screen should be blank. All you should see is a blinking cursor and three dots.

  2. Click on the DNS Configuration tab.

  3. Click here for the next step.

You should now see a screen similar to the one on the left.

  1. Verify that there is a dot in the circle to the left ofDisable DNS.

  2. Click OK

  3. Click OK again on the next screen.

  4. At this point Windows will possibly ask for your Windows CD. If so put it in your CD Rom Drive and follow the prompts.

  5. At some point you will more than likely be told you need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect. Again just follow the prompts on the screen. Once your computer is rebooted try connecting to T-One again.
  6. After your computer restarts you may find Windows has left Control Panel or My Computer windows open on your desktop. You may close any of these windows at this point.
